At Wildwood Church we started having a "family fun night" one Sunday night a month. Our usual small groups do not meet, but participate in the evening's fun night activities instead. I was very pleased to see how many people come to enjoy an informal evening of games, trivia, or whatever the staff thought would be fun to do. It mixes all generations and really builds unity in the church body. It is also a great opportunity to meet new people.

It's great to get together to just have fun. It's amazing how spiritually close you can get to someone while not in a Bible class or worship service - just laughing and having a blast.

Fun night at our house is 2 cans of beans and a lighter. Probably not a good idea at church I guess. Hanging out is cool though and does allow you to get to know people on a different level. It's hard to break through that bubble of holiness that people roll around in most of the time. It's so funny that we do that seeing as we all know that everybody else is just as screwed up as we are. Maybe if I act super holy then they won't know I'm screwed up and they'll let me in... I'm so past that - Hi my name is Don and I'm screwed up. Lets hang out.

You guys are so funny! I like that fun night idea! You guys should play the newly wed game, but family style, like how much dad knows about daughter and vice versa. Seeing the connections between father and daughter may make others want the same. What unity laughter and realness can bring! Wow, I'm just really glad we are all here to build each other up in the faith.

Building each other up, laughter, realness, learning, sharing good and bad. Sounds alot like a real community. Now if we can only break down all of these walls we like to build to "protect" ourselves, we might have something!

You, sir zul, are definitely the master of fun, although I think Amy is about to overtake you. In fact...there she is...it's official...you are no longer the master of fun. Congrats to Amy and congrats on making Rooster.
![]() Oh yes, community, kinda like Bible stuff, you know. One of our main goals is to help people in our "churches" work together as one Church. It will definitely take some God-sized sledge hammers to break down the walls of competition, but through obedience and outright fearless Barbarianism we can do it! |
